I stopped by the D'Angelico Guitars booth at Summer NAMM and got to check out the new XL Deluxe prototype. Mike Johnson explained the history of the D'Angelico brand and the impact of the arch top guitar on luthiers of the past. D'Angelico is reviving that craft today. While maintaining the characteristics of the legendary infrastructure, the D'Angelico guitars of the present and future are also extremely versatile, allowing them to compete against any build, solid-body or otherwise. Mike and Dusty were two great guys who love music and the guitar, and it was a pleasure to spend some time with them to geek out about their awesome new Deluxe Series, which you can expect to be released sometime in 2016.
