When you think of Joe Satriani, you may think of sultry legato runs, huge rocking chords, and maybe some alien noises. What most people miss in the Master's catalogue are his clean offerings, including songs like Midnight, the first minute of Circles, Brother John, and this tune – Baroque. This classically influenced finger-style piece contains some of the coolest chords in existence, along with a jungle gym of contrapuntal melody and bass lines working to create one of the most difficult yet most rewarding songs I've ever learned on guitar. This song is from Satriani's fifth studio album, Time Machine.
