Drop D tuning is usually associated with heavy, one-finger riffage. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love to play that kind of music, just as much as the next ax-slinger. It is interesting to find new ways to use an old tuning, though, so I present to you a few chords that will expand the horizon of drop D for you (unless you already know these shapes... then this is pretty much pointless, but at least you get to look at my fat head).
