A Trend I've Noticed with Music YouTubers

After being in this community for awhile and as a long-time consumer of YouTube content, I've noticed a very particular and wide-spanning trend among the musicians of YouTube and the internet in general. My question isn't necessarily about finding a solution to the trend or if it's even a problem at all, but why the trend exists in the first place.
